This was my first time receiving petite sizes, and I have to say, I was a little worried. I occasionally buy petite lengths, but not often. I’m 5’2″ which is technically petite, but they always seem to be too short (especially pants), so I tend to stick with average lengths. But I might need to start shopping petites more after how well these items fit!

Also, I do apologize for the quality of these photos. I was lazy and used my iPhone instead of my DSLR. Won’t make that mistake again!

THESE PANTS. I can’t begin to describe how comfortable these pants are! I could sleep in them they’re so comfy! I don’t normally wear petite-length pants, and was worried they might be too short, but I sent a picture to my sister and she agreed that I can pull them off as “cropped.”

Papermoon Norris Front Pocket Blouse | Medium Petite | $44

As soon as I saw this top in the box, I knew I liked it. And once I got it on, it was definitely a keeper. It will be easy to transition from summer to fall by just layering a cardigan or jacket over it. I also don’t have much blue in my wardrobe, so I liked that it would add some variety.

Verdict: KEEP

This might possibly be my favorite top EVER from Stitchfix! I don’t even know where to begin on how much I love it! The color: perfect. The pattern: perfect. Fit: perfect!

And to round out this fabulous box, a great dress that is comfy, can be worn to work or dressed up for a night out, and fits great! Seriously, it’s like my stylist went through my closet and found pieces that not only I needed, but would be comfortable as well.

Bay to Baubles Mallory Hammered V Necklace | $28

I love the simplicity of this necklace, though I have to say, I wouldn’t have kept it if I wasn’t keeping everything else just because I really didn’t need another necklace.

Verdict: KEEP

 

Yep, I kept it all. With the 20% discount and the $20 styling fee credit, it brought the total from $286 to $194.50! For this deal-loving girl, that is music to my ears!

Latest Hulu binge: The Good Wife. I don’t know how I miss such good shows until they’re already several seasons in. And how did we survive before Netflix and Hulu?! I thought cutting out cable several years ago was going to be difficult but thanks to those sites I only missed it for a couple of weeks. Now if I had to get rid of them, I would be in sad shape. And now you know that I don’t actually have a life.

Fall is around the corner! If only September would remember that — it seems to have decided it wants to hold on to the summer heat. 90+ degrees is just unacceptable to me at this point. But I least I found pumpkin hard cider. I’m having to resist drinking them all in one sitting because they are delicious!

Long Time, No See

Goodness, it’s been a hot minute since I posted anything. I am SO glad August is over. It has been a rough month all-around.

Work has been nuts. Life has been nuts. And I’ll be honest, I haven’t been in the best state of mind. The stress at work is taking a toll on me even more than I realized, and I come home completely unmotivated. I don’t want to go to the gym (although I am forcing myself to go a couple days a week at least), I don’t want to spend time with friends or family, and I don’t want to work on this blog.

I know that this will pass. But at the same time, I’ve decided not to fight it too much. Of course, I can’t become a complete hermit, but I do allow myself days/times to do so. I actually did exactly that on Saturday and it was WONDERFUL. I cleaned out my closet, but other than that, I stayed in my pajamas, watched The Good Wife, and ate junk food.

And obviously, I haven’t been posting at all for the last couple of weeks. I’ve struggled with ideas of what to post. And I don’t want to post just to post so my “traffic” stays up. For me, this just creates further burn out.

I, however, am starting to feel like myself again and hope to get to some regular posting over the next couple of weeks. Bear with me as I get in the groove of things again. It will probably be sporadic to start.
